Terms of use

Updated on November 4, 2026.

Vaultless Pass is free and provided as it is. The master password is yours alone: if you forget it, nobody can recover it.

What these terms cover

These terms apply to the Vaultless Pass extension and to this website, made by Rodrigo Borges ('the author'). By installing or using the extension you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

Free to use

The extension is free, for personal and professional use, with no account and no ads. The name, the logo and the texts of Vaultless Pass belong to the author; using the extension gives you no rights over them.

The master password is your responsibility

Passwords are calculated from your master password, the site's domain and a version number. The author does not have your master password and cannot recover it: if you forget it, the passwords calculated from it are lost.

Choose a long master password that is hard to guess: a weak one weakens every password it generates. Keep the backup file of your per-site rules (it never contains passwords) and note which version you use on each site.

What the extension does not protect against

No tool protects you from malware on your computer, from someone watching your screen or from clipboard managers that keep a copy of what you copy. The limits are listed on the home page.

No warranty

The extension is provided 'as is', without warranties of any kind. The author works to keep it correct and secure but does not promise it will be free of errors or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by law, the author is not liable for losses caused by using it, such as a forgotten master password, lost access to accounts or sites that reject a generated password.

Acceptable use

Do not use the extension to get into accounts that are not yours or to break the law.

Changes

The extension is updated through the Chrome Web Store. The author commits not to change, in an update, how existing passwords are calculated: a different calculation would arrive as a new version, without silently replacing the current one.

These terms may change; the date at the top shows the last update. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the new text.

Support and third parties

The link to support the project goes to Buy Me a Coffee, a third-party service with its own terms. Supporting is voluntary, buys nothing and changes nothing in how the extension works.

Law and contact
